The vision of the Evangelism Council is primarily to communicate the love of God in a way that leads people to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We work closely with the Small Groups and Adult Ministry teams to assimilate new members into the life of the church. Our major area of emphasis are the Invest and Invite strategy and the Visitors Welcome center.
Strategic Initiative: To become an evangelistic church that has:
Goal 1: To equip the membership for evangelism:
- Equip leaders to understand (and use) the “invest and invite” approach to evangelism

Equip members to understand (and use) the “invest and invite” approach to evangelism

Create a community of faith that is inviting to those in whom our members have invested

Evaluate and modify for our use the Andy Stanley Evangelism Curriculum by April for Session and deacons, and by June for Sunday School teachers and small group leaders
Goal 3: Promote Kingdom Focused evangelism
- Participate with our Partners in Ministry (Young Life, etc.) in evangelism efforts.
- Work with our current Partners in Ministry’s outreach efforts
- Equip leadership to understand “Grow Your Church from the Outside In” strategy
Goal 4: Develop a Neighborhood approach to reach our local neighbors
- Work with Deacons to develop neighborhood awareness and support of subdivision outreach
- Assist Deacons in developing the church communities within the different neighborhoods
- Targeted direct mail to different subdivisions
Goal 5: Support and connect with Missions Council

Support youth, adult, and multi-generational mission trips

Evangelism is the underlying value in missions

Participating in evangelism locally, regionally, nationally and internationally builds awareness of the priority of evangelism
Goal 6: Increase awareness, understanding, acceptance and commitment to missions at Windwood

Provide awareness through a learning opportunity regarding current and future mission trips and missionaries supported through Windwood

Increase understanding of missions results through ongoing updates from those directly involved in the ministries

Gain acceptance of Missions through opportunities to be involved indirectly with mission work and/or missionaries

Deliver commitment through opportunities of participation in missions
