Single Adult Ministry
Dear Single Adult,
Welcome to Windwood’s Single Adults Ministry. We’re so glad you stopped by to find out more about us. Our group, while small in size, is big in heart, and we’re confident that you’ll find the support and encourage-ment that you are looking for within our group. Please feel free to join in any of our areas of ministry that you feel a calling for:
-
Monthly Prayer Meeting: Alternating Saturdays and Sundays the 1st weekend of each month. (This meeting place rotates from home to home, where we engage in the sharing of food, fellowship and fun through prayer and worship. Look for the day, date, and location in the newsletters and emails.)
-
Frequently Scheduled Social Events: Each month we host a social event for the group which includes a range of activities, including but not limited to visits to the museum, aquarium, theater, concerts, etc. (Look for the day, date, time, and location in the newsletters and emails.)
-
Personal Ministry: Any of our core leaders are available to minister to you personally, help guide you and direct you through our church and affiliated programs, and help you to feel as comfortable at Windwood as possible.
Again, we welcome you!
May God shine His favor on you and pave smooth your path.

Single Adults Weekly Study:
Please join us Sunday mornings for our weekly study. This is our venue to gather together as a Christian community and study God’s charge to us to live the Christian life. Our weekly meetings include reading the identified material and a group discussion of how this material applies to us in our walk with Christ. We foster an environment of support and encouragement in striving to be the Salt, as He calls us to do. "Ephesians " Sundays, 9:30–10:30 a.m. In the Conference Room.
Single Adults Ministry Q&A
Around which scripture is the Single Adult Ministry based?
"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness". (Hebrews 3:13)
"Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord. See to it that no one misses the Grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many". (Hebrews 12:14-15)
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10)
How do I qualify as a single adult?
-
If you are single, in that you have never been married, are divorced, or are widowed, you qualify as a single adult. Please join us!
Is this a divorce recovery group?
-
No, this is not a divorce recovery group. While we may have individuals in our ministry who are divorced, we as a group are not qualified or trained to assist any individual through divorce recovery. Our main focus is on living the rich single life and finding contentment in our singleness regardless of the circumstances that have brought us to this season in our life. However we are equipped to help encourage and support any newly divorced individual in finding their comfort in Christ.
I’m not divorced yet. Can I still participate in the Single Adult Ministry programs?
I am a single parent. Does the Single Adult Ministry provide for child-care?
Does Windwood partner with single ministries at other churches?
-
Yes, we often partner with other churches for various outings. Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church is one such example, and we are open to partnering with other churches should you have any recommendations.
