Student Ministry Volunteers Wanted!

Our top 10 reasons why we want you! Windwood's Student Ministry has many volunteer opportunities for direct or indirect ministry with our Jr. High and Sr. High School students. With thanks to Dave Letterman for the idea, we present here our Top Ten reasons we hope will lead you to prayerfully consider working with some of the greatest kids around.

10.

Was one of your New Year's resolutions to get more involved at church? Windwood's Student Ministry has volunteer opportunities at many different levels of involvement.

9.

It's a real hoot to hang around with the Students. Come on! We're all kids at heart, no matter our age. Windwood Students know how to have a good time!

8.

At every Baptism at Windwood the congregation takes a vow to care for and nurture the faith of the baptized child. Here's your opportunity to fulfill your vows.

7.

Student Ministry leaders have the chance to go with Students to some great conferences, mission trips and other outings. Leaders get doubly energized on these trips: witnessing the transformation of the Students and being transformed themselves.

6.

Christ called upon all of the faithful to go out and ensure that the gospel is carried on to the next generation. You will be working with the young men and women who could be Student Leaders for your children or grandchildren. (Bonus Reason: The greetings you receive when former Students who have gone off to college come back to Windwood as grown women and men at Christmas, Easter, summer, etc.)

5.

Student Ministry is a family affair for many leaders. What better way to work with your spouse or other family members than to share your faith in Jesus Christ with Students?

4.

You get to work with a great team of other Student Ministry leaders who will pray for you, support you, teach you and learn from you. Oh yeah, we have a lot of fun and eat well, also.

3.

In addition to their parents, Students need role models to help them form their faith foundation and behavior at this critical time in their lives. Yes, we are all role models. Look at today's media to see who is attempting to influence young people. Students need positive influences, like you!

2.

Being a Student Ministry leader is a great learning experience. Not only do you learn much on your own and from other leaders but, most importantly, you learn a lot from the Students about what's going on today in our culture. No kids in your family yet? This is your opportunity to get some training in advance!

1.

"We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well, because you had become so dear to us." 1 Thessalonians 2:8 tells how Paul felt about those whom he discipled. This is what's in store for you when you become a Student Ministry volunteer!
