Knitting Ministry

This group of ladies knit prayer shawls that are given to church members and friends of church

members who are hospitalized. Prayer shawls and chemo caps are given to cancer patients at the Ronald McDonald House and MD Anderson. The ladies also knit children’s sweaters which are sent to Knit for Kids sponsored by Guideposts and are distributed to needy children around the world. Meetings are held 2—3 times a year at 7:00 p.m. in the east parlor to fellowship and knit.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministers are individuals who have completed the nationally recognized 50-hour Stephen Ministry Christian Caregiver Training Program. They have been trained and commissioned by our church to assist our Pastors in giving pastoral care. As extenders of pastoral care they are committed to respecting the confidential nature of the caring relationship. Stephen Ministers provide distinctively Christ-centered one-on-one care to those in our congregation and community who are experiencing problems and crisis in their lives for as long as needed.

Stephen Ministers provide care to individuals who are …

 Physically ill or hospitalized

 Terminally ill

Primary caregivers of ill or disabled

Adults caring for their aging parents

 Bereaved

 In a job crisis

 In a spiritual crisis

 Experiencing a relationship conflict

Needing a Christian that genuinely cares and really listens

(The permission of the person(s) in need should always be obtained before their name is given to a Stephen Minister.)
