This weekend we have more opportunities to serve in our community. Saturday, September 23, is Windwood’s annual Day of Serving. This is a day set aside to serve our Partners in ministry as well as reach out to our community to share God’s love and our labor and to continue that fellowship we have had all this month working side by side with other Windwood members.
We will meet at the church at 9:00AM for Commissioning and prayer. You can show up at the site at 9:30 if more convenient.
We have 5 projects scheduled so far.
Mission of Yahweh – Sort through a great influx of donations, entertain the children of the Mission and prepare and enjoy lunch with resident families and workers.
Boys & Girls Country (Transition Campus) – Paint one the cottages on the campus, cook and enjoy a hamburger and hot dog lunch with the residents.
Krahn Elementary – Refurbish their Book Garden and do other landscape projects.
Kardia and the Windwood School - Paint the metal equipment in the back playground. Refurbish the surface on one of the side playgrounds.
Terry and Karina Kjol – Mold is growing underneath the floor tiles. The tile needs to be removed throughout the house. We have power tools available to remove the tile.
If you are missing tools from the previous week’s projects, they might be at the church behind the steel doors near the back entrance to the kitchen. There are at least 3 wheelbarrows, a cooler and and number of hand tools.

If you are in need of assistance due to Hurricane Harvey or if you are interested in serving those affected, please contact Cindy Pirtle at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 281-726-2409. She along with others have organized our "WPC Care Crew - Harvey Relief" Facebook group and ask that you watch that page for updates. If you are not on Facebook and would like information by email, please send Cindy that information. The group has been busy coordinating everything from collecting items, to clearing out damaged homes and feeding those both affected by the storm and keeping our workers nourished.
