Windwood's Hurricane Relief Efforts

Rescue is over, but recovery continues...

Hurricane Harvey was an "unprecedented" event!  That means, we have no precedent about how to deal with all of the after effects, but in good Houston fashion, we continue to take it one day at a time until the work of recovery is done!

The people of churches across Houston came out to help in likewise, unprecedented fashion, and we are happy to report that this effort is continuing, even as it is changing.  From the early days of "mucking out" to now some of the longer months of recovery and rebuilding, there are many efforts to continue to help.  Some of that organization between so many that want to help is still in the works, and we hope to have news to report soon about those coordinated efforts to help rebuild for so many who, in particular, had no flood insurance.  There are already several church groups from around the country in contact with local Houston churches, including Windwood, who plan to come and help with the rebuilding.  As those details develop, we will be putting up notices here and trying to get the word out.

In the mean time, if you know of people with needs, or if you know of folks who want to help, please let us know and we will pass that information along to the groups who are coordinating the next round of help that is needed.  As Judge Emmett said during the flood, don't get discouraged if things aren't going as you expected - this has been unprecedented, so we really don't know what to expect - other than that Houston will get through this by pulling together!

If you would like to contribute financially to help through Windwood, we still has a Hurricane Relief Fund. The funds collected will help support those in our church family and those in our community that have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey.  Over $20,000 has been received and distributed to date.  While this may seem small compared to the amount of damage from the storm, it has been greatly appreciated by those who have been helped!  Every part of the relief and recovery effort makes a difference!  Please use the following link: https://windwood.wufoo.com/forms/windwoods-hurricane-relief-fund/ to be redirected to our donation page.
