The Adventure Preschool & Windwood Christian Academy seeks to provide a safe, nurturing Christ-centered educational environment where children and their families feel a sense of support, unity and acceptance in a true family of faith.
The congregation of Windwood Presbyterian Church, recognizing the critical importance of early childhood education, pledges itself to a continued ministry to this community through The Adventure Preschool & Windwood Christian Academy. We will strive to provide every child an opportunity to grow in all areas: Intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical. Our Director and teachers are trained to provide classes which include a balance of play activities, creative art work, music, exercise, computer knowledge, story time, gross and fine motor skill development, language building activities, and learning centers.
Our campus is part of Windwood Presbyterian Church, located in Northwest Harris County, near the intersection of Highway 249 and Spring Cypress Road. We are very proud of our facility, which includes state-of-the-art classrooms, computer lab, gym and worship center. Expansion and improvements are scheduled to continue through the coming years.
The Adventure Preschool & Windwood Christian Academy is a ministry of Windwood Presbyterian Church and serves families with children ages 18 months through 5th grade. Our programs include: Mother’s Day Out, Building Bridges,Three and Four-Year Old Preschool, 5-Years Old Transition Class, Kindergarten, and Elementary through 5th grade. Our calendar year follows the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD schedule for holidays.
Learning to live in the gentleness and truth of Christ is God’s educational goal for every person. Such a goal is the highest calling of a Christian school. Teaching each student to conduct themselves in loving and responsible ways is a lasting gift that we strive to give each student. At the Adventure Preschool and Windwood Christian Academy, discipline and guidance is consistent and based on an understanding of each child’s needs and development. We strive to promote an atmosphere that encourages good behavior, independence, and self discipline.
The Adventure Preschool & Windwood Christian Academy prides itself on quality curriculum enrichment activities throughout the year. Classes (when developmentally appropriate) receive training in our up-to-date and internet capable Computer Lab, Spanish Enrichment, Music, Physical Education, Bible Adventures and Science Room with our degreed staff. Students also attend a bi-weekly chapel time called "Celebration Station". The Adventure Preschool & Windwood Christian Academy along with its PVC (Parent Volunteer Committee) sponsors festivals, special field trips and bring in outside speakers and entertainment on a regular basis. The Adventure Preschool & Windwood Christian Academy also sponsors special events for all its families.
Our Mother’s Day Out program serves children 18 months through 36 months of age. Class times are 9:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Parents can choose the day or days that they wish their child to attend, subject to availability. Class sizes will not exceed 15 children with 2 teachers in any class. Your child’s day will include:
- Centers
- Celebration Station
- Music
- Circle Time (2’s & up)
- Nap Time
- Snack Time
- Outdoor play (or play in the gym)
- Lunch (parent provided)
- Enrichment (Little Shepherds, Music, Fit & Fun, & Celebration Station)
The Building Bridges program at The Adventure Preschool serves as a transition from the world of Mother’s Day Out to the Preschool Program. To be eligible for enrollment, your child must be 3 years old by December 31st of the enrollment year. Building Bridges classes run from 9:00 am until 2:30 pm and parents have their choices of Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday classes. Class size does not exceed 15 students with two teachers.
Daily activities include all of those listed for Mother’s Day Out with the addition of time in our Computer Lab. Building Bridges classes are also included in our “Celebration Station,” where classes join together to share a devotion/Bible story, and song. Your child will also participate in our annual Christmas Program and Spring Sing, as well as in other enrichment activities.
Our preschool program for 3’s and 4’s offer many wonderful options for children and parents. To be eligible, your child must have turned either 3 or 4 years of age by September 1st of the enrollment year. Classes begin at 9:00 am and end either at 1:00 pm or 2:30 pm, depending on the option chosen. Classes are available MWF, TTH, or all five weekdays. The Adventure Preschool also offers optional Quest Enrichment classes on a monthly basis from 1:00-2:30 pm. Our preschool class sizes do not exceed 15 students with 2 full-time teachers.
The Adventure Preschool program utilizes a variety of Christian based curriculum. Theme based units, centers, and developmentally appropriate discovery are also utilized. In addition, preschool classes receive enrichment as noted in our Enrichment Activities section of this page. Our teachers strive to help your child build positive self-esteem and a good self-image, as well as encourage a life-long love of learning.
The Transition program at Windwood Christian Academy serves as a transition from the world of Preschool to grade school. THe 5 year old transition class is five days a week from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. To be eligible for the transition class your child will need to be 5 years old by September 1st of the enrollment year. Our goal is to give these children an opportunity to mature while their learning progresses. This class offers the same enrichment as Preschool with a strong focus on academics.
Kindergarten through 5th grade
Windwood Christian Academy elementary education program conducts classes five days per week, Monday through Friday 8:45 am to 3:00 pm. As in the preschool, we utilize the A Beka Christian curriculum to help provide a Christ-centered academic program designed to meet the developmental needs of students in these early grades. Besides the basics (math, phonics-based reading, spelling, science, and social studies), each grade also includes instruction in music, computers, physical education, Spanish, and religion. Students also attend a weekly chapel time called “Celebration Station,” which includes a Bible story/devotional, songs, and fellowship.
Even at this age, children learn and explore best when they are able to use as many senses as possible. Windwood Christian Academy provides varied and exciting, multi-sensory learning experiences for our elementary grade students. Children participate in special field trips, musical programs, and festivals. Class sizes in the elementary school program are limited to 15 students.

Adventure School & Beyond
For those in need of extended care, Windwood Presbyterian Church offers its Adventure School & Beyond program for children ages 18 months to 5th grade. Extended care will run from 2:30 pm until 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday. Parents may choose to use the program 2, 3, or 5 days per week. Children can participate in games, art, hands-on activities, and tutoring. Dance instruction and martial arts classes are available for an additional fee.
Kids Night Out is a child care program designed to provide a safe, caring, and fun environment for ages 6 months through 5th grade. Children in the same age grouping will enjoy free play, special activities, crafts and more whild parents can go out for the evening. Kids Night Out is every 1st and 3rd Fridays from 6:30pm - 10:00 pm.
Adventure Kamp is a six week summer program for children ages 3 through 5th grade where themes are bible based and children have fun in a safe Christian environment. The Adventure Kamp has weekly large events, praise and worship times, arts and crafts, guest speakers and entertainment. Parents can register their child/children starting in February.
Saturday Holiday Adventures
Children can come and enjoy activities in a Christian based environment while parents can get their holiday shopping done. Saturday Holiday Adventures is scheduled for the first 3 Saturdays in December from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm. Reservations must be made each Friday by noon.
